What is the latest proposal from the city?
The city’s proposal is to install the sanitary sewers with the costs covered by the residents as well as install sidewalks after the street is repaved.

Why do we need to oppose it?

The costs of the sewers project per resident is very high and a few times the cost of a new septic system.

The sidewalks would lead to loss of trees and other greenery, result in loss of parking spaces, ruin the character of the street, devalue the homes, and result in less privacy for the residents.

Toronto’s Vision Zero mandate is already achieved on Ridgewood Road.

Please see the Sewers and Sidewalks sections on this website for more information.
